While it's only the beginning of summer, Hauss advised retailers to start preparing now for the holiday season. One of the biggest first steps to start preparing is to "get your inventory right." "You need to make sure you're ready to fulfill orders when customers want them. The elephant in the room is Amazon -- they put pressure to deliver in two days, so retailers are feeling the pressure to meet this," she explained. Hauss also discussed how to strategize for effective and quick shipping, and other ideas that marketers need to start thinking about for the holiday shopping season.
