24 people. 24 days. 24 communities. See what they did to #MakeTodayMatter

If you had 24 hours to make a difference in your community, what would you do? See what these people did to #MakeTodayMatter. Imagine having a dream to do something that would make a real difference in your community – and then being given the opportunity to turn that dream into reality. Over the month of November 2014, that's exactly what happened. From Vancouver to Halifax and Boston to Miami, TD customers across North America where given the opportunity, and 24 hours, to make today matter in their communities. TD selected 24 customers with inspiring and impactful giving ideas and surprised them with both the money and support to make them come true. The acts rolled out in 24 communities across the U.S. and Canada and were as varied as the communities and the people living in them, including: Michael from London, Ontario who helped create a more accessible home for a neighbour in need, giving her back her independence. She is now able to use the wheelchair accessible ramp to easily get in and out of her house. Watch Michael's #MakeTodayMatter story here: http://bit.ly/1HDAExI Edwin, an elementary school gym coach from West Palm Beach, Florida whose love of sport inspired him to equip a struggling football league with much-needed gear, including uniforms and practice equipment. Watch Edwin's #MakeTodayMatter story here: http://bit.ly/1AKlGUS Valerie, who wanted to show foster children that they're important and beautiful, inside and out - so she organized an inspiration gala complete with a ballroom, gowns, makeovers and special guest speakers to empower teenaged foster girls in Philadelphia, PA. John Lewis Christmas Advert 2011

Download the Slow Moving Millie track "Please, please, please" from our Christmas advert on itunes now. http://bit.ly/slowmovingmillie The advert from John Lewis which everyone's talking about this Christmas. "For gifts you can't wait to give". There is something even more wonderful than receiving the perfect gift, and that is knowing you have found the perfect gift for someone you love. This year we have brought to life the feeling of excitement and anticipation you get when you have found that perfect gift for someone and cannot wait for Christmas day to arrive. Our advert follows one little boy who is impatiently counting down to Christmas. We see him tapping his fingers, gazing out of the window, even trying to cast a spell on a clock to make time go faster, but to no avail. The track 'Please, Please, Please let me get what I want', was originally recorded by the Smiths, and has been rerecorded by emerging artist Slow Moving Millie.
