How We Made Monty's Magical Toy Machine At Christmas 2014

Working with Microsoft we created this world first piece of experiential technology for John Lewis, working with adam&eveDDB and Manning Gottlieb OMD. For the full case study visit: http://www.techdept.co.uk/case-studies/John-Lewis It was a magical time during Christmas 2014 in the London Oxford Street store of retailer John Lewis. That's because children could take their toys into "Monty's Magical Toy Machine" and bring them to life. Within 4 minutes, kids could interact with a 3D animation of their fluffy best pal, dancing with it before walking off to a second screen to shoot a selfie! The project used ground-breaking technology – and open collaboration – to create genuinely emotive, magical moments. Once word got out, families travelled hundreds of miles, sometimes queuing for up to two and a half hours to experience the magic. In six weeks, we created over 2,600 'living' toys.
