It would suck if people were saying bad things about you and you don't know about it. That's like people talking behind your back. Wouldn't you want to know if a friend's talking behind your back? Hey everyone, I'm Neil Patel, and today I'm going to share with you how to know if people are talking about you online. The first thing you need to do is check on a site called socialmention.com. What this site does is, for free it'll tell you who's talking about you. Again, when you know who's talking about you, you can get ahead of it. You can know if you need to react or not react. The thing with social mention is, it's not the best tool out there. Mention.com which is a paid version, it is better, and that works, and it alerts you ahead of time, right when it happens. Technically it's not ahead of time, but it's usually ahead of time before everyone else knows something is happening, right? Because when something comes out about you or your business, it takes a few hours at least before other people know about it. But with mention.com, you'll get notified right away, and you could be ahead of it. If you want a free tool, you can also use Google Alert. I've been using that for ages, and the cool thing about Google Alerts is you get alerted every time someone mentions your brand or your name. And it's effective. I do a combination of all three of those tools so that way I can stay ahead of it. And now that you know when someone's talking about you, good or bad, I'm going to share what you should be doing. So, let's say someone's talking about you in a positive way, what should you do? You shouldn't just leave it there. You should comment. You should say, "thanks". You should participate. You should email them. You should get to know them. If you have a product or a service that you're selling and someone's saying amazing things and reviewing you, and they have a huge audience or a significant influence you can give them some of your products for free or your services. That way, they're much more likely to keep promoting you in the future. In other words you're turning 'em from being hey, just random one time reviewer to becoming a brand evangelist. By being a brand evangelist or having tons of 'em, you're gonna have more and more people saying amazing things about you. Just think about Beats by Dre. Who's their brand evangelist? Pretty much every celebrity out there. Anyone in the music industry or athlete, they're all like, check out my headphones, Beats by Dre. They're walking when they're going to a basketball game, like wearing the Beats by Dre. That's all brand evangelism. And when you know who's talking about you and you convert them into evangelists. Now when someone talks about you poorly, what should you do? If they're talking about you poorly and they don't have a big following, you can just leave it alone. But what I like doing is I love to rebuttal. And by showing them that you're just a kind person and you're not trying to fight fire with fire, then you're more likely to convert them from a hater into a lover. No one wants haters out there. Why can't you have more lovers? And you can do that. You just have to get in their good graces and take what they're saying to heart. So if you use these tools and you interact with people, and you do try improving, you'll not only know who's saying what about you and when they're saying it, but you'll be able to turn a lot of these people into brand evangelists. And that'll cause you to grow your business through marketing.

This is an excellent inbound marketing strategy. Hey everyone, I'm Neil Patel and today I'm gonna share with you how to generate sales using Facebook live. The best part about Facebook Live is that facebook promotes it quite heavily. Instead of you watching reality TV such as keeping up with the Kardashians, they want you to watch reality TV on Facebook LIVE. Now the way you generate sales through Facebook live is really simple. You just have to follow these strategies. #1 Offer some sort of education or benefit for the person watching When I do Facebook live, I educate people on marketing. Once they're being educated, they're like hmm I'm watching Neil, he's awesome. He's a handsome Indian guy, I'm learning a lot from him. And you know what, he seems smart. #2 As you're educating people make sure you transition to a bonus offer for that individual And that bonus offer is usually found on your website. So for example, if you're watching one of my Facebook live streams I may end up saying "hey, would you like to learn more about marketing?" Or, do you want to work with me? You can set up a free consultation call by going to neilpatel.com/consulting. That's an example of a bonus or a consultation or a benefit that is just for that person watching Facebook live. This is my online marketing strategy and I'm sure it will work very well for you. And ideally, that internet marketing landing page that you have should be tailored just toward that Facebook live video. #3 Boost It Using Facebook Advertising When you boost your Facebook Live video and promote it more people will continually watch it and then when they do watch it you'll start getting more visitors back to your website.
How to Leverage Influencer Marketing to EXPLODE Your Business
Have you heard about Beats by Dre? Well if you haven't you have probably seen social media influencers or celebrities wear their product. If you want to leverage influencer marketing, you shouldn't be paying people. Instead, you should be giving them free products or services in exchange for the promotion. If that doesn't work, pay them. But negotiate and don't go through agencies as they mark up the costs a bit too high. Now when picking influencers you have to pick relevant ones. For example, Fit Tea picks people who are into fitness and weight loss. I had a famous soccer player offer to do influencer marketing for $60,000. But I am in the B2B niche... so it wouldn't make sense. Only pay people who are in your target demographic. When leveraging influencer marketing you have to be patient as it takes months if not a solid year to see results. This isn't a short term investment. You need to continually do it each week for months at a time.

My Best Marketing Strategies for 2018 | Creative Growth Plans for Business
Want to know my marketing strategy for 2018? ►►Subscribe here to learn more of my secret SEO tips: https://goo.gl/ScRTwc Find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/neilkpatel/ Read more on my blog: https://neilpatel.com/blog 2018 is going to be an exciting year. The analysis on how much money we're spending to generate the traffic and here's what's crazy, most people don't realize this, we generate, let's say a million visitors a month on Neil Patel. Do you know what the cost to get there is with video, production, podcasting, blogging, promotion, ads, link building? $110,000 a month. That's what it averaged out to for 2017. Here are my marketing strategies for 2018. I just bought a blog in the marketing space for a half a million bucks. They get a million visitors a month, and it's cheaper to spend money acquiring people who already have the traffic. So in 2017, I bought Uber Suggest, I think it was around 140 grand. They had very little traffic. I 381 redirected the site, traffic increased and guess what happened? Nothing. I hoped that my traffic would go through the roof, but nothing happened. Uber Suggest was a good acquisition and what I ended up learning from that is, who cares about links? Don't buy anything for the links. Buy it purely based off of traffic and just pay a simple metric. If Uber Suggest has roughly 200,000 visitors per month, I paid a hundred and something; I would have paid 200 grand, the money didn't matter. For a blog that I just spent half a million on, their traffic ranges. On a horrible month, they'll get around 800,000 uniques. In a perfect month, they'll get around, like, 1.2, 1.3 million uniques, and all I'm doing right now is buying as many blogs as possible. My marketing strategy for 2018 is to buy blogs based on of traffic. I look at the top posts that they have and how qualified their visitors are and determine if I can successfully monetize their content. I don't even care if they have revenue. If they don't have revenue, even better. The problem with Search Engine Journal is that they have conferences, they have advertising, and they have contracts for all of it. I don't care for any of that. I just want the traffic. So when you buy all these people for traffic and then you put it into your monetization flow, you can quickly figure out, what is this worth? If I can't make my money back in less than 12 months, I will not buy it. The other marketing strategy that I use when I'm buying these sites is to look for blogs that aren't monetized well. The blog that I ended up buying for half a million bucks, they're not even making three grand a month. If you're not even making three grand a month, that's a good deal, right? They're like; you're going to give me half a million dollars for this? No problem. Another creative marketing strategy I'm doing right now, is trying to buy a really popular marketing tool. I don't want to pay them all the money they're asking for because they want well into the millions, and it isn't worth it. But, I'm trying to work out a deal where I give them X amount of money up front, let's say a million dollars, and then give them a hundred thousand a month over X amount of months or a hundred thousand a year over X amount of years. When I see inefficiencies in sites, I figure I can purchase them and double the revenue because they aren't optimized for traffic or conversions. So buy it for what it's worth, optimize it, and then use the profits to pay them out continually. That way you're not using all of your money and the business is paying, you may have spent a bit more money, but personally, you don't have to spend as much money, and that's my marketing strategy for 2018. My goal is to spend at least $5 million acquiring businesses purely based on their traffic.
