On July 1, 2014, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) took effect and it dictates who marketers can and can’t send email too. CAN-SPAM is familiar to most of us, but CASL is different in a few key ways. First it is a broad piece of legislation that applies to all electronic media including email, SMS, IM, and social media. Even the opt-in requirements are different.
