Friday is Veterans Day, a time to remember the brave men and women who defended our country. We watched a movie called Hacksaw Ridge (video included) directed by Mel Gibson that featured a highly underestimated private that saved a great many men at Io Jima after a major battle there. Badly understated he would not carry a gun for personal reasons. But he p ...
Saturday is a day mainly to celebrate college football. My Fighting Irish play today too as well as many top schools. NBC called Notre Dame one of the top 15 schools in the country along with Stanford, but the football is not very good this year. Their record is 3-6, I believe. Th ...
Are you looking for results from your next marketing leader? How will you know what to look for? This article was posted before my epic fall, but I want to share it with business leaders of today. I’m not currently looking for a job. For another point of view, we highly recommend you read “The Hardest Job to Fill” We wish to thank Ken Rosen of Performance Works for a very compre ...
Notre Dame is normally expected to win 8 or 9 games in a 12 game season. They have more Heisman trophy winners than any other school. But this year was way down as they finished the year at 4-8. My freshman year Joe Montana was our quarterback. Losing to a very good USC team in the pouring rain in Los Angeles is not a big surprise, but losing to a team like ...

I write a blog to keep people’s interest in my stuff. I hope to get people interested in what I am doing. I like movies and stuff a lot too. We saw a movie with my Notre Dame roommates called London Falling. It was about a major attack on London by a Midwest organization. The hero of the movie was a Secret Service agent with a new wife and baby.
They defeated Army on Saturday 44- 16 and play ranked Virginia Tech tomorrow and USC, also ranked next Saturday. Kind of sad to beat Army and it’s great traditions. Hopefully the wins will keep coming but I don’t know. I am a Notre Dame grad. Ironically, my mom asked me not to go there due to the cost and I said “I appreciate that but I will do my best to get a degree.” and I did do it.
I was working for a business called Business Objects in New York City. They are now part of IBM. The product was business intelligence and I won every deal I worked. They were struggling with General Electric and I asked to take it over. They said I could. Managed GE as a global account. Won a very important deal on a GE project called digital cockpit, a management dashboard.
One time long ago, I was working for a warehouse management company called Optum Software. It was a startup with about 35 employees. I was a salesperson. The company was sold and I gave them my resignation. They said ” We REALLY need that big deal with the company in Tampa. The Home Shopping Network.” I replied “I will sell it if you put it in writing. They did.
Over two years ago, I was working for Best Buy in the computer department. Someone wanted to buy a monitor, and we had none on the floor. So go to the warehouse in the back, bring in 6 or so to restock the floor and sell one. One problem, the unstored inventory blocked the path to the ladder to take it down from the high shelf.
