  • EF4 Tornado on April 3, 1974

On April 3, 1974, our ranch house in Madison, Indiana was hit by a major tornado. (My long-term memory works fine despite my fall and long hospital stay last April.) Jeff Ogden The corner bedroom of my parents were crushed in and the truck in our driveway was hit by the roof and driven into the truck. If large hail falls, you know high winds are coming.

  • i’m a registered Republican in Florida

My taxes for 2013 and 2014 are paid – so I’m officially a single man in Florida now with the IRS. Thanks to my Mom and the volunteers who did the taxes. Thank you. (Still waiting for a refund check to come in the mail.) Perhaps this week I hope. I live in Pinellas County by the way and there are many events in this county, which I hope to attend someday.

  • Good-bye to Father Hesburgh

I’m a Notre Dame grad and Father Hesburgh was the President of the Notre Dame during my years there. He died at age 97, which deeply saddened me. His funeral at Sacred Hearth Church was attended by so many famous people, like Jimmy and Rosyln Carter and Condalezza Rice, who’s a Notre Dame grad like me. All Notre Dame grads want to celebrate the life of this great man.

  • Car Commericals, Baltimore and Notre Dame Day

I’d love to have a new car. Who wouldn’t? Love those push button starters and heads up speedometers I see on the TV every single day. Baltimore is all over the news. “The police are lying.” Riots and burning vehicles. “No one is listening.” I sure hope we are. Sorry about the man who died. This is quite a tragedy. Hope they get that man in the Colorado shooting.

  • Every single day is a gift for me

Unfortunately, I fell 10 feet to a concrete floor on April 1, 2014 and nearly died – until early June 2014. (The photo is the halo I wore for weeks 24 hours a day and even slept in, which was no fun at all.) Cracked spine, broken ribs, tubes, etc. But thankfully I got many prayers and support from so many people, so that every day I’m alive is like a new Christmas gift for me.

  • The Best Show on Television in my opinion

The Best Show on Television #60Minutes is the most shocking show on television and it’s classic “Must Watch” TV every Sunday evening for me. The story on failing Infrastructure was shocking and disturbing to watch. Falling bridges and all the failing roads was shocking to watch. Congress’s failure to fund improvements is shocking and disturbing to watch as well.

  • A few thoughts about what is going on now

Texas has tornadoes right now, like the one that destroyed our home on April 1978, which was an EF4 tornado. Tennis ball hail is a key sign of powerful winds. There is storm hitting the coastal states too and my thoughts and prayers are with each of those people. The employment roles a ...

  • A good week for Jeff Ogden of Find New Customers

Lots of good things going on this week for Jeff Ogden of Find New Customers. (I do have a BBA in Marketing from the University of Notre Dame.) Much better week than Jeb Bush or Tom Brady who both have big problems. Very sad news about the helicopter in Nepal. It was found near Mount Everest and there are no survivors. Very, very sad.
