The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are a professional Canadian football team based in Hamilton, Ontario, founded in 1950 with the merger of the Hamilton Tigers and the Hamilton Wildcats. They are currently members of the East Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The Tiger-Cats played their 2013 home games at Alumni Stadium in Guelph, Ontario. Ivor Wynne Stadium, their home since the 1950 merger, closed after the team's last home game of 2012 to prepare for its demolition and replacement, which is scheduled to open in July 2014. On July 12, 2013, it was announced that Tim Hortons had acquired the naming rights to the new stadium, which will be known as Tim Hortons Field.
